999 Fun Day Hillfields 2009: Hillfields 999

999 Fun Day Hillfields

Hillfields 999 Fun Day 2008 Residents in Bristol East are looking forward to fun and games this weekend at the annual Hillfields 999 Fun
Day. Avon and Somerset police will be at the event with a police van, motorbike and a patrol car as well as police dogs. Avon Fire and Rescue will be at the event with a fire engine. St John’s Ambulance will also attend. PCSO Alison Powell, who helped organise the fun day, said: “Last year the day was a great success with lots of community members attending the event and getting to know their local police and fire service teams. “Children especially enjoyed being locked up in the back of the police van and turning on the sirens of the police smart car on display. “It’s a great event with plenty of activities for everyone and a good opportunity for members of the Hillfields community to come together and have some fun.” All emergency service vehicles will be on display for visitors to look at and explore. Albert Rogers’ fun fair rides, face-painting, the playbus, and a football penalty shoot-out game will keep the youngsters entertained all day. There will also be performances from dance group, Elementz, for all the family to enjoy. Stalls will be selling books, jewellery, Body Shop products, and Polish food products. A charity fund-raising raffle will round off the day. The 999 Fun Day takes place at The Harry Crook Youth Activities Centre, Moorlands Road, Fishponds, from 10am to 4pm. ENDS
