Actor Mark McGann will open a special day of events at the Frome Pet Aquatic Centre on Saturday.
The open day is part of national pet month and this year’s theme is healthy pets make happy pets. The event will raise money for two charities, the Cats’ Protection League and the Cancer and Bio Detection Dogs’ Charity. Shop owner Janine Tozer said: “The Cats’ Protection League’s Frome branch is in dire need of funds and the people who are involved with this charity are lovely. “The dogs’ charity does amazing work with all kinds of disease detection.” At the Frome event, there will be face painting, colouring and photographic competitions and an appearance from a Bath-based ‘dog whisperer’. The Tozers will also be launching a free weigh-in for customers’ pets.
Mrs Tozer said: “We shall be issuing customers with a record card and we will have a guideline weight chart in store.”
