Antonio Banderas is the latest celebrity to become a Goodwill Ambassador for the Unites Nations.
Banderas hopes to help the UN raise awareness about the Millennium Development Goals, attempting to alleviate world poverty by 2015.
‘Poverty robs us of our potential as a people, preventing us from being all that we can be. This is why it is so important to mobilize all of our efforts to defeat it, especially if today we have the knowledge, the tools and the resources to do it,’ the actor said in a statement.
Antonia Banderas joins Nicole Kidman, Orlando Bloom, Jackie Chan and Ewan McGregor in the role of UN Goodwill Ambassador.
