Children’s heart diseases, also known as pediatric heart diseases, are medical conditions that affect the heart in infants, children, and adolescents. These conditions can impact the structure or function of the heart, making it harder for it to pump blood effectively. While some children are born with heart defects, others may develop heart problems later in childhood. These conditions can vary in severity, ranging from mild issues that may not require treatment to complex and life-threatening conditions that demand immediate medical attention. Understanding and addressing children’s heart diseases are vital to ensure the well-being and healthy development of young hearts.
In the effort to support children battling heart diseases, charitable organizations play a crucial role. One such organization making a significant impact is The Friends of Children’s Hospitals in Warsaw (Fundacja Przyjaciół). Through their dedicated work and compassionate initiatives, they strive to provide essential medical care, resources, and hope to children and families facing these challenging conditions.
Recognizing the profound importance of their mission, The British School of Warsaw has joined hands with ‘The Friends of Children’s Hospitals in Warsaw,’ extending their unwavering support in a remarkable collaboration. Together, they are gearing up for the highly anticipated “Biegnij Warszawo Charity Run,” where the focus is not only on promoting a healthier lifestyle but also on raising funds and awareness for this vital cause. By participating in this inspiring event, individuals have the unique opportunity to directly contribute to improving the lives of young hearts in need, making it a truly meaningful and impactful endeavor.
Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students,
We are thrilled to announce that our year 12 students are organizing a charity run as part of the ‘Biegnij Warszawo’ event on the 1st of October 2023, starting and finishing at the Legia stadium in Warsaw. The British School Charity Run is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, get active, and support a great cause.
This year, we will be raising money for new heart monitors for ‘The Friends of Children’s Hospitals in Warsaw’ (Fundacja Przyjaciół). The purchase of these monitors will provide crucial support for children in need of medical attention, and we are proud to contribute to such an essential cause.
The British School Charity Run is an event that the whole family can participant in, it is either 10km run (for 13 years or older) or 5km walk and support. It is a great opportunity for our community to work together and help those in need.
We encourage all parents, teachers, and students to participate in the run, either by running or by supporting those who are running. The more people involved, the more successful we will be in raising money and awareness for ‘The Friends of Children’s Hospital in Warsaw’.
