Big Nacoa Walk 2024

No child should walk alone. Together, we make their path.

Growing up in households where parents struggle with alcohol addiction, children often endure traumatic experiences and emotional challenges. Witnessing the detrimental effects of alcoholism, these young minds face an uncertain future marked by instability and emotional distress. Addressing this issue is paramount, as early intervention and support can offer these children the hope, guidance, and resources they need to break the cycle of addiction and build a brighter, healthier future.

The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (Nacoa) stands as a beacon of hope for these children, providing a vital lifeline of support and understanding. Through counseling, helplines, and educational programs, Nacoa empowers these young individuals to cope with their family’s struggles, offering them the guidance and strength they need to heal and grow, breaking the cycle of alcoholism for future generations.

As they continue their mission, Nacoa presents the “Big Nacoa Walk,” an annual fundraising event that brings together communities and supporters to raise both awareness and crucial funds. This spirited event, set to take place on May 4, 2024, invites participants to join a nationwide walk, connecting people with a common goal to make a difference for children affected by their parents’ drinking. The “Big Nacoa Walk” promises to be an inspiring day that fosters hope and healing for those who need it most.
