Staff at DHL, on the Berry Hill Industrial Estate, hope to raise thousands of pounds for a platoon of the 2nd Battalion of the Mercian Regiment (Worcesters and Foresters) during their six-month tour of duty as part of their campaign, Support A Soldier (SAS). The money, a combination of funds raised by staff and DHL match-funding, would be used to help any injured troops or to support their family in the event of any loss of life in the campaign. If the troops return safely from their tour, they can then choose a cause for the money raised on their behalf.
Mr Wilson said many of the DHL drivers were ex-servicemen who are sympathetic to the sacrifices made by today
