AINSDALE Bowls Club continues its support for paraplegic charities in its first fundraising event of the season.
On Wednesday, April 1, a coffee morning will be held in aid of the Paraplegic Unit at Southport Hospital. It follows on from fundraising events last year which saw almost £1,500 raised for Southport Paraplegic Sports and Social Club (SPSSC). The amount was possible after 80 members of the ladies’ team took part in a charity bowling day and held a similar coffee morning as well as a book sale. Ladies captain, Anne Holmes, said: “Members of the SPSSC attended and they were delighted to receive our support which allows them to help people who have suffered spinal injury.” The fundraising coffee morning, which includes entertainment, is in the main club building of Ainsdale Club on Liverpool Road and begins at 10am. All are welcome to attend. Admission is 50p.
