Child sexual abuse has been prevalent not only in Australia, but in households across the world, and awareness has always been set aside. On statistics, 28.5% of Australians experienced child sexual abuse, so imagine 1 out of 4 women tainted with disrespect at a young age.
The foundation Bravehearts, founded by Hetty Johnston AM, is a successful attempt to raise awareness amongst the community of the effects of violence and what steps to partake in order for this ruthlessness to stop. Drawing inspiration from her young daughter’s disclosure of sexual abuse, Bravehearts is now one of the most influential voices in child protection.
Back for its ninth year, Australia’s iconic endurance event, the Bravehearts 777 Marathon, is once again challenging Australians to take on the physical challenge and fundraise – in a bid to prevent child sexual abuse.
Bravehearts is a leading Australian child protection organisation focused on creating a world where people, communities and systems all work together to protect children from child sexual abuse.
Join Bravehearts’ 777 Marathon when it lands in PERTH on Monday, 26 June! Registrations are now open for individuals or teams to run or walk the 7km, 14km, 21.1km, or 42.2km distances.
