Brewery team take honours at Mayors charity

WINNERS of the Cornish Rattler Challenge Trophy at the Mayor of Truro’s 10th annual Charity Golf Day held at Truro Golf Club on Friday
were the team from St Austell Brewery of Alec Penrose, Justin Barnett and Alex Boyd with a score of 81 Stableford points. In second place on 76 points were the Truro Old Boys &ndash Roddy MacPherson-Rait, Geoff Lord and Andrew Harris, with Three Under Pars &ndash Scott Mayne, Phil Hodges and Jason Hodges in thrd on 75 points. The ladies’ trophy was won by The Three Degrees &ndash Sheila Caruana, Gill Aveyard, and Carolyn Prescott, with The Globetrotters Cecilia Lodge, Gail Davies and Vicky Stevenson in second place Sue Callen, who has just stepped down as Mayor of Truro after her term of office, and whose charity, Ultimate Touch, was one of the beneficiaries from the day, presented the prizes. This was the 12th annual event and has been organised by the Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen from the start.
