Bristol’s second 10K race was so successful that organisers ran out of medals.
Almost 8,000 people turned out in the sunshine yesterday to run the 6.2-mile course, many as part of their training for the Bristol Half Marathon in September. The number of runners was up more than 50 per cent on the first 10K last year and the event looks set to go from strength to strength. The first elite competitors, who included international runners, completed the course in less than half an hour. But some local people, taking part in their first 10,000 metre event, often to raise money for a charity dear to them, were pleased to finish the distance in a somewhat longer time.
