Cake Loving Mums Raise Charity Funds 2009: Mums Called

Cake loving mums raise charity funds

A group of mums called Mummy Loves Cake have organised a fun-filled baby and toddler event in Theale to raise money for a cause
close to their hearts. The group from all over Berkshire are raising funds for SANDS, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society, in memory of the death of a son of a mutual friend. The event will be held in Theale Village Hall in Englefield Road on Friday from 11am to 4pm. Helen Bligh, one of the organisers and mum to Holly aged 10 months, said: “All seven of us have babies under a year old and we wanted to do something positive with our maternity leave and burn off the calories from all that cake we‘ve been eating.†The whole event is dedicated to the memory of the son of a mutual friend who lives in Essex. Hannah Litten, mum to Florence, aged seven months, said: “We were all rocked by the death of baby Joe and wanted to do something in his memory.
“We’re hoping to raise as much money as possible for SANDS and make some new friends at the same timeâ€.
