Calling All Tossers 2009: Readings Hugely

Calling all tossers

Reading’s hugely popular Annual Charity Pancake Race is to take place in the town on February 24th.
The event is supported by John Lewis, The Oracle and 2tenfm. Teams of four from businesses and organisations in the town are signing up to secure their place in this year’s race. Teams will be under starter’s orders from 12.30pm ready for the relay pancake-tossing race along Broad Street in the town centre. Proceeds from the event will go towards this year’s chosen charity, Reading Single Homeless Project. Companies which have already signed up to be in the race, doing their bit for charity are Broad Street Mall, The Oracle, Reading 107fm, Airwide Solutions and the Children’s Information Centre.
Councillor Peter Beard, Reading’s Mayor, will lead the procession of teams from the Civic Centre to Broad Street, via the Broad Street Mall, around midday ready for the big event.
