Cannon And Ball Fundraise For Charity 2009: Comedy Legends

Cannon And Ball fundraise for charity

Comedy legends Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball are coming to Goole to raise funds for a cash-strapped charity.
The duo have agreed to host a fundraising event in aid of Goole Gofar, which provides a community transport service. The event, taking place on Monday, June 15, should raise thousands of pounds to help the elderly and disabled get out and about. The charity’s co-ordinator, Andy Smith, approached the pair about the idea at one of their meet and greets with fans. He said: “I told Bobby Ball about the work of the charity and he said he really believes in what Goole Gofar is doing and that it would be a shame to see it go under. “I think it’s fantastic and very generous that they are taking time out of their busy schedules to help us.” The pair had their own TV series, The Cannon And Ball Show, which ran from 1979 to1988 and in the 1990s they starred in their own sitcom Cannon And Ball’s Playhouse.
In 2005 they appeared in the British reality TV series I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!.
