In the online survey – commissioned by Christian Aid and completed by more than 2,000 respondents from across the UK at the end of January – 60% of 18 to 34-year-olds said they were more likely to stick to a regular exercise routine if they had signed up to a charity challenge such as the Great North Run. The Great North Run, the world’s biggest half marathon, takes place in Newcastle on September 20.
With all non-charity places now filled, Christian Aid is offering people the opportunity to participate in this popular event as an added motivation to get fit, while raising vital funds to help fight poverty in the developing world.
