Charity Event Held To Raise Cash For The Ruby Owen Fund 2009: Fun Day

Charity event held to raise cash for the Ruby Owen fund

FUN DAY: A charity event has been held to raise money for the Ruby Owen fund.
Activities included face painting, bouncy castle and tombolas. Worker Lydia Nichols, who organised the event, said: “We’re not sure how much money we raised until we count it up. “We were very pleased with the turnout and hope we’ve helped Ruby in some way.” Doctors have given Ruby, pictured inset, of Kidsgrove, less than a 20 per cent chance of survival. She has already undergone an eight-hour operation to remove most of a brain tumour. Unless Ruby responds to treatment, her parents may be forced to find £250,000 for pioneering treatment abroad.
Pictured are Finlay Neal, left, aged seven, and Tom Knight, aged eight, of Eddison Street.
