Charity walk in aid of Alzheimers

THE Alzheimer’s Society is looking for people in North Lincolnshire to take part in a special fundraising event .
The national charity is hoping to raise more than £650,000 this year with its flagship fundraising event – the Memory Walk. Hundreds of Memory Walks will take place throughout the UK next month to coincide with World Alzheimer’s Day. A Humber Bridge Memory Walk will take place on Sunday September 27, to raise funds for the Scunthorpe branch of the Alzheimer’s Society. Joan Hall, 70, from Burringham Road, Scunthorpe cares for her husband Charlie, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2006. She said the Scunthorpe branch of the Alzheimer’s Society provides a vital service for local people. “The centre is such a lifeline for carers and people with Alzheimer’s,” said Joan.
“It is very reassuring to know that you are not on your own and it is lovely to meet people who are in the same boat as you and share your experiences.
