Get involved CAN you use your entrepreneurial talents and a little seed corn capital to raise funds for a good cause That’s the question
a local charity is asking businesses of all sizes across North Wales. Conwy-based children’s hospice Ty Gobaith is urging firms to see if they can turn £50 into hundreds &ndash or even thousands &ndash of pounds for the charity. The Ty Gobaith Corporate Challenge last year raised more than £80,000 &ndash and there’s the additional, unofficial challenge this year to see if participants can match or beat that. HSBC bank has given £5,000 to Challenge organisers to be divided equally between up to 100 local firms and organisations who will be asked to come up with ideas on how to grow that sum. After three months all the proceeds will be handed back to the hospice to help it meet its £1m annual running costs.
The Challenge is meant to be good fun but, as it demonstrated last year, it can also encourage teamwork and teambuilding as well as fostering entrepreneurial skills.
