What do actress Amanda Seyfried, Olympian Tom Daley, and singer, songwriter Stevie Nicks have in common? They all love crocheting! If you love crocheting just like them, or if you’re into knitting, felting, sewing, or quilting, then you’ll definitely enjoy St David’s Church and Hospiscare’s Craft Day. Happening at St David’s Church, Queen’s Terrace, this event aims to gather artistic folks who love crafting for a good cause. You don’t have to be an expert to join. You just need to bring your crafting tools and your enthusiastic and kind spirit. Half of the funds raised from this event will go to Hospiscare so they can continue to provide “specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, Central and East Devon.” The other half will go to St David’s Church so they can continue to give hot meals to homeless folks in the community.

Did you know Queen Victoria used to crochet? As a matter of fact, she crocheted eight scarves which were given to veterans of the Boer war. Crocheting, knitting, quilting, and all other kinds of needlework have had such a long and colorful history and these crafts continue to live on to this day. This November, pass on your love for needlework, learn from fellow crafters, and let those who need help the most feel that they are seen and valued.
