Former Adelaide Crow Wayne Carey made a one-off comeback on the weekend in becoming a Lion for charity.
Carey played with the Palm Beach-Currumbin Lions on Saturday in their QAFL clash with Maroochy-Northshore on the Gold Coast, but his return was short-lived after tearing a calf muscle on the field. He waived a match fee in lieu of having a percentage of gate takings donated to the youth organsation Whitelion that works to support troubled teens.
Carey maybe had had a lions share of troubles in the past himself, but the former Adelaide Crow has now turned his attention to charity.
