LOS ANGELES – The Dodgers will take on the New York Mets (May 18-20) and their cross-town rivals the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
(May 22-24) next week during their third homestand of the season. Special guests will include “Extra” host Mario Lopez, MTV’s Whitney Port, and actor Matthew McConaughey. Promotions throughout the week include Jewish Community Night on May 19, a Casey Blake Bobblehead giveaway on May 20, presented by Carl’s Jr., Friday Night Fireworks presented by Bank of America on May 22, and the first Webkinz Pet giveaway of the season on May 24. Homestand Highlights: Monday, May 18 vs. New York Mets – 7:10 p.m. Mario Lopez, host of the TV shows “Extra” and “America’s Best Dance Crew,” will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before Monday’s game. Randy Wolf will host a group of 20 patients and families from Childrens Hospital Los Angeles on the field during batting practice as part of his community initiative, The Wolf Den. Each person will receive a program T-shirt and dinner courtesy of Panda Express and will get to meet with Wolf on the field and get his autograph. Tuesday, May 19 vs. New York Mets – 7:10 p.m. May 19 is Jewish Community Night at Dodger Stadium and the Dodgers will honor the Maccabiah Games, an international Jewish athletic competition similar to the Olympics, during pregame ceremonies. Ron Carner, the General Chairman of the USA 18th Maccabiah Organizing Committee, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Discounted tickets for the night can be purchased at dodgers.com/jewishcommunity by entering the promo code “Jewish.” Fashion designer Whitney Port from MTV’s hit reality shows “The City” and “The Hills” will be signing autographs for fans and promoting her clothing line “Whitney Eve” in the DodgersWIN tent from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The tent will be located just inside the Left Field entrance to the stadium. Whitney will also throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game.
Matt Kemp will host a group of 40 kids from Variety Boys and Girls Club on the field during batting practice. Each child will get a program T-shirt and dinner courtesy of Panda Express and will get to meet with Kemp and get his autograph. Variety Boys and Girls Club was founded in 1949 and provides worthwhile and meaningful activities and programs to youth of the community.
