The picnic, in conjunction with National Family Week, is just one of hundreds planned across the country. The event is part of Eden’s half-term Global Garden Party celebrations, from May 23 to 31, when the centre will be heralding the coming summer with a variety of traditional fair games, including Reg Payne’s award-winning Punch and Judy and the Cornish Legends show, which will be running every day at 11.30am and 3pm.
Visitors will be able to have their faces painted, get temporary tattoos, eat candyfloss, test their strength, try their luck on the coconut shy or indulge in that most traditional of fete fodder – tea and cake.
