Eden Taylor-Draper, 12, who plays Belle Dingle in the ITV soap, wants youngsters to join her in the event, which includes a 1.5km mini run for children aged three to eight, a 3km junior run, for those aged nine to 11 and a 5km junior run for 12-16 year olds. All three will take place at Newcastle Gateshead Quayside on Saturday September 19, the day before the Great North Run. Eden, who is starting and running the Junior Great North Run, said: “I’m really looking forward to the Junior Great North Run because it’s so much fun.
“They chip time everyone who runs so you know exactly how fast you did it in.
