Empowering Individuals with SEND

SeaShell Trust UK: Unleashing Potential, Shattering Barriers

Have you ever heard of SEND? It stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, a term used to describe a wide range of conditions that affect a person’s ability to learn and develop. These conditions include physical disabilities, sensory impairments, learning difficulties, and mental health conditions. While SEND affects people of all ages, it is most commonly associated with children in education.

According to the World Health Organization, around 15% of the world’s population has a disability, and the number is growing. Yet, individuals with SEND are still widely misunderstood and face significant barriers in education, employment, and society as a whole.

While there is still much work to be done in creating a more inclusive society, there are organizations that are leading the way in providing support and accommodations for individuals with SEND. One such organization is Seashell Trust UK, a charity that provides education, care, and therapy for children and young people with complex needs. Seashell Trust UK is dedicated to empowering individuals with SEND and enabling them to achieve their full potential, regardless of their disability. They are inviting everyone to their anniversary celebration and fundraising activity in June.

It’s time to Shellebrate good times!

This year Seashell is celebrating its 200th anniversary and we would be delighted if you could get involved by joining in our birthday ‘Shellebration Sponsored Walk‘.

Join us on Saturday 17th June for an 8 mile (approx.) walk through the gorgeous Cheshire countryside. The walk will start and finish at the Seashell campus in Cheadle Hulme with walkers departing aound 8.30am.

The route takes you to the village of Styal, past the airport runway (great for those of you who love to do a bit of plane spotting), then into Styal Woods and through to the beautiful Quarry Bank Mill. From there you will head back to Seashell in time to join our big birthday bash at our annual summer fair ‘Seashell Shine‘.

Entry is £15 for adults with a minimum sponsorship ask of £100.

Entry for 11-17 year olds is £12.50 with a minimum sponsorship ask of £50.

All particpants receive a FREE event t-shirt and party bag at the end of the walk.
