On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre will host the Enchanted Forest Charity Gala Ball. Guests will enjoy an evening of elegance and celebration, beginning at 5:30 pm. The event promises enchanting decor, exquisite dining, and lively entertainment. Attendance supports the rescue and rehoming of pets in need, creating more happy endings together.

The beginning of our organisation start with Angela Atkinson, our Director, Manager, as well as heart and soul. In August 2011, Angela saw a need. A need for a group that would help with the pets across Townsville and surrounding districts , from all walks of life. Puppies and kittens that couldn’t be taken care of properly by their family, pets that need to be re-homed because of a change of family circumstances, or just animals that have been abandoned or found lost.

After 13 years the animal rescue network in Northern Queensland is still struggling under the weight of homeless and unwanted animals. We now as a team spend every day working tirelessly to keep TFRA running smoothly and ensuring every animal that comes through our front doors get the best chance at life possible.

Thus, our mission statement is as follows: to save our dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies that cannot speak and do not have the ability to save themselves, and by doing this, bring joy to people who find room in their hearts to love these animals and give them forever homes.
