Ten club singles champions took to the greens.
Martin Gosper of Tuncurry hit the greens running and the scores of his games indicated that he was in very good form. His opponent in the final, Col Hebblewhite from Gloucester, proved to be no slouch, he having good victories in his preliminary matches. However, as is said in the classics, cometh the final, cometh the man! Following comfortable wins in the semis, the match was played earlier than expected and Gosper maintained his strong form in defeating a game Hebblewhite. The district congratulates Martin on his achievement and wishes him every success in the zone play offs. Rookie titles shared Forster hosted the zone play offs for the Bowls NSW Rookies Singles and Pairs Championships. Saturday saw the singles contested in two sections, with the section winners playing for the zone title. To this end, the district congratulates Phillip Rowsell of Old Bar in winning the title, from Bryce Chapman of Taree Leagues.
The pairs final was played between teams from Old Bar and Pacific Palms BCs. In an even game, Graeme Macey and Daniel Dawes from the Palms proved too strong for Peter Hazelwood and Phillip Rowsell of Old Bar in the final and are congratulated on their victory.
