Green Schwimmer make up for lost time with fun

“It’s been challenging, but we will get through it and we’re having a wonderful time,” Green said.
“This has been fabulous and I look forward to (practice) every day.” Green is one of six local “stars” who will compete in the gala’s dance competition to raise money for the symphony and its programs. Her fellow competitors include Neil Macready, Berangere Robertson-Tucker, Neal Waner, Debbie Brown, and Pete Aguilar. Schwimmer, Green’s professional dance partner, owns 5-6-7-8 Dance Studio in Redlands, and has been dancing his whole life. Throughout his career, Schwimmer has appeared in movies, most notably “American Graffiti.” He has worked with Dick Clark, Wolfman Jack, Shebang, and Casey Kasem. Schwimmer’s children, Benji and Lacey, have followed his dancing steps. Benji won the 2006 season of the FOX television show “So You Think You Can Dance” and has gone on to choreograph later Lacey Schwimmer placed second on another season of “So You Think You Can Dance” and is now one of the professional dancers on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” At his studio, Schwimmer teaches a variety of dance, including swing, ballroom, hip hop, tap, among others.
“Mr. Buddy Schwimmer is known as the King of Swing,” Green said. “I’m having a great time with Buddy Schwimmer. He’s the best teacher, a dancin’ fool.”
