Harry Faces A Chillier Outlook 2009: Faux Pas

Harry faces a chillier outlook

Faux pas: Prince Harry has been spotted sporting a promotional fleece Five years after Prince Harry felt obliged to apologise for wearing a Nazi
uniform at a fancy dress party, the third in line to the throne has committed another sartorial faux pas. In a clear breach of the royal protocol covering advertising, Harry has been promoting royal bankers Coutts, Land Rover and the outdoor clothing firm Musto at public events. While clearly not as offensive as Harry’s Swastika-clad outfit, his appearance in a fleece bearing the logos of the three companies is nevertheless likely to cause concern at Buckingham Palace. Harry, I can reveal, wore the fleece at a polo event at Cowdray Park earlier this month and was spotted wearing it again at the recent Guinness Premiership rugby final between Leicester and London Irish at Twickenham. ‘As the Queen’s grandson, he should not be seen to blatantly promote products or private companies,’ says my royal source. ‘For example, when he plays polo in a team strip, any logos are covered up with electrical tape.
‘He will certainly be given some very firmly-worded advice about not being seen wearing the fleece in public again.’
