The 2009 Highland Interact Global Dinner will be held again this year, on Friday March 6th. This year, the proceeds of this always popular dinner will benefit Connecting With Kenya. The dinner will feature delicious dishes donated by many of the top restaurants from around the valley, and a silent auction. Items for the auction will be donated by local businesses and individuals. There will also be a presentation on the Connecting with Kenya project and live entertainment. Connecting With Kenya is a project based in the Comox Valley that aims to “adopt a village” through the international youth charity Free the Children. Funds raised through the Connecting with Kenya project will be used to build a school, create freshwater infrastructure, and establish an alternative income program for the residents of a rural village in the Maasai region of Kenya. This will hopefully get the wheels of this small village moving in the right direction towards a happy and sustainable future. There are a limited number of seats, and this popular event sells out fast, so get your tickets soon. Tickets are $10 for children under 12 years of age, $15 for students, and $25 for adults.
