Hornseas New Mayor Announces Charity Auction 2009: John Miller

Hornseas New Mayor Announces Charity Auction

John Miller On Monday 18th May, Hornsea couple John and Vanda Miller were elected Mayor and Mayoress of Hornsea for the next twelve months…
During the Mayor Making Ceremony Mayor Miller announced that he, together with Mayoress Vanda Miller, have booked the Floral Hall for Saturday 22nd August when they will be running a Charity Auction, all proceeds of which will go to Hornsea Inshore Rescue. Mayor Miller kindly explained to us a little more about the Charity Auction: “What we are looking for is donations from the public of any saleable items (Only brand new shoes or clothing please – but virtually anything else. Good second-hand items of all types which we can sell on). Until recently Vanda and I ran Lowcroft Leisure Park on Cliff road, and had done so for 6 years. Throughout those years we held open air auctions at least once per year on the car park of the Caravan Park, raising considerable amounts for various charities, even though most of the bidders were residents on the Caravan Park. Holding such an event indoors at the Floral Hall will ensure that the event is unaffected by the weather.
