The collective efforts of businesses, organizations, and the like are paramount in building a circle that contributes to its community. In an effort to collaborate and create an entertaining fundraising event, a group of volunteers founded the Hospice Strawberry Festival, where people basically just sell strawberries of all kinds and give all profits to the Marry Potter Hospice. Since then, this event has gained more popularity, finishing with over 8,000 punnets of strawberries and 1,000 liters of ice cream per year, and collecting thousands of dollars for the Hospice.

The Mary Potter Hospice provides palliative care services for free across the areas of Wellington, Kāpiti, and Porirua, and supports community and homes with short-term acute admissions for symptoms, pain relief, respite care, and end-of-life care. More than relief, the hospice ensures a whole-person approach to the care they give to those in need.

Welcome to the 2023 Kapiti Strawberry Festival! During November and December thousands of delicious strawberry sundaes will be sold around the region to raise funds for Mary Potter Hospice to help keep the hospice.

This year, after successfully bringing our beloved strawberries back into the fore, we are excited to see what wonderful things await us. We look forward to bringing another brilliant day out to Kāpiti in November.

Every donation counts.
The money received from the Kāpiti Strawberry Festival makes a huge contribution to helping keep the service free for the people of Kāpiti. The money is retained in Kāpiti and spent on the care of the patients.
