Miss World Australia, Katie Richardson, was in Wollongong yesterday visiting the sick, disabled and disadvantaged kids from the KidzWish Foundation at the launch of KidzWish Day.
MP Noreen Hay was also on hand to present the Foundation with an $11 000 cheque donated by Premier Morris Iemma.
Hundreds of money tins have been distributed throughout Illawarra for locals to raise funds for the foundation through Wish Day events.
There will also be a glamourous cocktail event with Katie Richardson held by The Young Stars of KidzWish Committee for KidzWish Day, on September 19.
