The cycling star drew hundreds of people to the event in Orr Square and the High Street in Paisley, Renfrewshire. 300 cyclists joined Armstrong for that event and there are likely to be as many for Tuesday’s ride. read: “Good morning Dublin. Who wants to ride this afternoon I do. 5:30 pm the roundabout of Fountain Rd and Chesterfield Ave. See you there..” Armstrong is currently in Dublin to attend a cancer conference after he abandoned the Tour of Ireland at the weekend. During the cancer summit, Arsmtrong said his charity work would not be tarnished by questions over the use of performance enhancing drugs.
“Definitely all sports have been affected by that, specifically as we know cycling, but I’ve been around too long to let that detract from what I do,” Armstrong said.
