This September at twilight, friends, families and co-workers will Light the Night in Melbourne to raise funds for patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. The Leukaemia Foundations new fundraiser, Light the Night is a walk that will aim to remember, celebrate and bring hope to support Australians with blood cancers.
Participants of Light the Night carry illuminated balloons to represent their journey:
Gold balloons are carried by those remembering loved ones
White balloons are carried by blood cancer survivors and
Blue balloons are carried by supporters to give hope
After being piloted in South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland in 2008, Light the Night events will be held at over 20 locations across Australia in 2009. Enjoy a fun atmosphere with entertainment and a chance to hear inspirational stories from people touched by blood cancers. Then as night falls, we will walk, carrying our illuminated balloons along the banks of the Yarra River for everyone to see.
