SHOPPERS in Studley could find themselves transported to the Bahamas, Benidorm or Blackpool when they call into their local Co-op store this weekend, for
staff are having a beach party to raise money for charity. Shorts and shades, sombreros and sarongs will be the sartorial order of the day as staff aim to get customers into the Bank Holiday spirit and add to the £1million already raised across the UK this year by the consumer-owned business for RNID, the charity for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Studley Co-operative store manager on the Alcester Road, Richard Brixey, said: “The August Bank Holiday is always a busy time and we hope this charity event will get the weekend off to a great start for both our customers and staff while helping us raise cash for charity.” As well as raising £2million for RNID by the end of the year, the Co-op aims to increase awareness of deafness and hearing loss.
