Get involved TYNESIDE students hope to be on the ball for charity with a fund-raising football event.
It has been organised by a group of third-year sport management students in connection with Team Northumbria. Cost of entry is £30 per team, with a least seven players per team up to a maximum of 10. The winning team will be presented with the ‘Summer Soccer Sevens trophy and an all-expenses-paid paintball experience. Money raised will be donated to Metro Radio’s Cash for Kids and Team Northumbria’s Zambia Project. The Cash for Kids appeal raises funds to help local children who suffer abuse or neglect, are disabled or have special needs.
The Zambia Project will see five Northumbria students travelling to Zambia this summer to work with youngsters.
