Local golf briefs

May 24, 2009 Ryan Gruenke of Kohler got the first hole-in-one of his life on Friday at Sunset Hills in Sheboygan Falls.
Gruenke aced the 130-yard third hole with an 8-iron. The Oostburg football program is hosting its two-man, two club scramble on Saturday, June 13 at Sunset Hills. Each player may only use two clubs. Cost is $25 per player, which includes prizes and hole events. Raffles and a silent auction will be held. Proceeds benefit the Oostburg Football Booster Club. The Elks Lodge No. 299 “Gridiron Committee” is hosting its 24th annual bestball golf tournament on Saturday, June 20 at Town & Country. The tournament is a four-person scramble and is open to everyone. There are four separate divisions: Men, Women, Couples, and Men Seniors (all golfers over age 55).
There will be awards for each division as well as many hole and door prizes. Cost of the tournament is $65 per golfer ($260 per foursome). Entry includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, prizes and a brat fry at the Elks lodge after golf. Tee times are available from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
