The pilot program involves PGA professionals in seven PGA Section, including the South Florida Section that encompasses Southwest Florida.
The USGA/PGA Junior Golf Program will consist of three initiatives: σ2 The After School program: A four-to-six week activity conducted at 75 sites for one hour, immediately after school. All sessions are conducted outdoors in an open space using traditional golf equipment A student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1 will be maintained. σ2 The Trio Mentoring program: Provides junior golfers the opportunity to achieve their full potential after being identified by PGA professionals, USGA volunteers, facilities, PGA sections, and state and regional golf associations. σ2 The Course Access program: Will utilize USGA and PGA digital media assets such as PlayGolfAmerica.com and JuniorLinks.com to present discounted course access to help developing players. The After School program will be promoted by schools through PGA Sections during The First Tee National Schools Program or physical education class as an elective next step to learning to play golf.
