Local News We got on our bikes for LEJOG

Get involved A BRAVE team of Tees cyclists – including Middlesbrough College staff, serving soldiers and ex-forces men – have raised more than &pound12,000
for severely injured army personnel. The charity cash is still rolling in after the Riding For The Troops team of 12 completed their Land’s End to John O’Groats challenge. The Teesside athletes made the gruelling 1,000-mile journey to raise funds for brave soldiers coping with horrific injuries in the aftermath of war, who are cared for by the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen’s Association (BLESMA). Steve Brady, assistant principal at Middlesbrough College, was one of the men who completed the challenge of a lifetime. He said: “I’d done it before a couple of years ago but knowing you are doing it for BLESMA and having been to see the ex-soldiers at the BLESMA centre before the trip made you feel proud to do it. “Some of the ex-servicemen from the centre met us in Lancaster on the way and it just spurred us on, even though it was raining on that day.
“Different members of the team had done it for different reasons.
