Longford Park event raises 1941638k for needy kids

Get involved THOUSANDS of pounds were raised to buy equipment for disabled children at a charity It’s A Knockout event at Coventry’s Longford Park
on Sunday. Contests ended up wet through and covered in foam as they took on a series of games and challenges on inflatables set up in the park for the day. Teams made up of groups of friends joined teams formed by groups of employees from various organisations. These included University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, the Co-op, banking giant Barclays and Parcelforce for the challenge at the park in Longford Road, Longford, Coventry. Each of the eight teams agreed to pay a minimum of &pound1,000 to take part with some raising extra, bringing in more than &pound8,000 for the charity. The event was hosted by children’s TV presenter Timmy Mallett, recently a contestant on jungle reality TV show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
He signed autographs for spectators and jollied the teams through each of the challenges.
