SEVERAL roads in the city centre will be closed today as Plymouth celebrates Lord Mayor’s Day.
Hundreds of people are expected to turn out in the sunshine to see the grand parade. Cars will be prohibited from driving or waiting on the following streets until 3.30pm: Armada Way – from its junction with Princess Street to its junction with Guildhall Square. Armada Way (Loop Section) – from its western junction with Citadel Road to its eastern junction with Citadel Road. Windsor Place – for its entire length. Alternative routes will be signposted, and signs will be displayed.
The parade itself will leave the Armada Way piazza at around 2.15pm, led by the City of Plymouth Pipe Band, the new Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, Councillors Ken and Wendy Foster and their deputies, and head to the Hoe.
