Lots of surprises in store at PKAVS Party in the Park

IT WON’T just be music lovers who will be rocking at PKAVS Party in the Park on Saturday, May 16.
Whether you are fun-loving, food-loving, or just want to experience something new, this unique event has something for everyone. A giant inflatable assault course, monster building workshop, and the chance to meet Rica the Iguana or a six-foot snake are just some of the attractions. The ambitious fundraiser has been organised by Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS), a diverse local charity supporting more than 5000 people across the Big County every year. PKAVS’ Party in the Park has gained considerable momentum over recent weeks, signing up big-name acts like the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. With free entry for children under 12, the event from 10am to 5pm on Perth’s South Inch has all the makings of a great day out for the whole family. From noon, professional sculptor Alasdair Alexander will be leading a giant ‘monster building’ workshop, teaching youngsters about using natural materials and the great outdoors in art.
Like every fun day, there are competitions to enter and prizes to be won, including a kids’ Beat the Goalie competition in the afternoon. Primary school children are also invited to put their imaginations to the test and enter PKAVS Fancy Dress Parade.
