There may not be a visit from the Hamburglar, but the 15th Annual McGala is sure to pack a surprise or two.
The “Horseplay on the Midway” gala event celebrates family, benefits the Ronald McDonald House and hits the Sawgrass Marriott tomorrow evening with Derby hats and good family fun. Meg Kuchar knows how important family is. “[Ronald McDonald House] becomes a home for families,” she said. “They come and go but the friendships they forge with other families there [is forever].” Kuchar, who is the fundraiser’s committee chair and mother of PGA Tour professional Matt Kuchar, said children and families are where her heart is. It’s the tie to family that led Kuchar to the McGala. Kuchar said she was living in central Florida and was on the board of a country club when the club decided to get more involved in social events. “I wanted my event to be a charitable endeavor,” she said. “I settled on the Children’s Wish Foundation.”
When the family relocated to Ponte Vedra, Kuchar got involved in children and family charities here and continued the tradition of her family helping families in need.
