How does 100 000 sound for a charity album of Mikhail Gorbachev singing love ballads
Someone in Britain thought the one-off recording was worth that price at a London charity auctionlast week. Gorbachev sang his wifes favourite romantic Russian songs, musically accompanied by Russian rock star Andrei Makarevich.
The proceeds of the sale go to the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation, a British charity for childhood cancer, named after the former Soviet leaders late wife.
Mikhail Gorbachev showed off his singing with one of the ballads from the 100 000 charity album at the auction, and his performance was greeted with rousing applause.
