Music Of The Night Is All Set For 2012 2009: One Plymouths

Music of the Night is all set for 2012

ONE of Plymouth’s biggest and most successful open-air productions will go ahead in 2012 thanks to “renewed enthusiasm”.
The acclaimed Music of The Night event was in danger of collapsing due to pressures on military and civilian participants. But Army chiefs who host the spectacular event at the Royal Citadel on the Hoe say it will go ahead in three years’ time. Last week charity representatives gathered to receive their share of £65,000 raised at last year’s event. “There was a question mark over the event but it is looking like it will happen,” said Lieutenant Colonel Neil Wilson, Commanding Officer of 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery. “It was always on the cards but we couldn’t say for sure that it would go ahead. “We always wanted to do it again and we are planning the next event now.
“There is renewed interest in the event shown by members of the public and organisations. It is in popular demand.
