Naples Charity Event Aims To Help Charities Improve Lives Of 2009: Angelsrsquo Activities

Naples charity event aims to help charities improve lives of

Angels’ Activities Inc., which calls itself “the charity for charities,” helps fill in those gaps with events like Saturday’s “Angels’ Day for Charities and
Children’s Safety.” The free event focused on child safety. It featured seminars and demonstrations on hurricane preparedness, baby certifications, heart attack and stroke. The Collier Sheriff’s Office supported the event with McGruff the Crime Dog on the job and provided bike safety and gang-, drug- and alcohol-awareness information. “We wanted to give charities this opportunity to raise additional awareness of what help is available for the community,” event chairman Tom Barrett said. “Our hope is that we can do something to help charities with awareness of their services and in doing so, help keep our community’s children safe from the dangers of today’s world.” Such dangers are, unfortunately, very real for children, especially in the online world. At the event, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children presented seminars on Internet awareness, what children should do if they become separated from parents, and how to avoid becoming the victim of a child predator. The Center set up camp in the back of My Angels’ Attic and provided parents and children with child identification cards.
My Angels’ Attic owner Emolee Barrett wanted to do something for the children in the community, so she and her son, Tom Barrett, started Angels’ Activities Inc.
