The Children’s Library will offer Ready, Set&hellipSing & Move with Cici Hunt for children ages 3-5.
Join Hunt in this interactive class for parents/caretakers and their children from 11-11:45 a.m., Friday, June 12. Participants will sing, dance, and move to a variety of music. Registration is required for each class and will begin one week before each session. Parents or caregivers must stay with their child during each session. Attendees should arrive on time. Library staff will fill spaces on a first-come, first-serve basis, for those who are more than 10 minutes late. For more information, call the Children’s Library at 781-455-7559, ext. 204. Needham Rotary presents a wine tasting and silent auction event from 5-9 p.m., Friday, June 12, at the Needham Historical Society, 1147 Central Ave. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. For advance tickets, call Karen Wetmore at 781-444-8161 or e-mail her at KWFalconverizon.net. In addition to the silent auction, a 50-inch LG Plasma TV will be raffled off to a lucky winner. Come see the TV and buy raffle tickets at Prudential Prime Properties, 1089 Great Plain Ave. Raffle tickets are: one for $10, two for $15, or five for $30. People needn’t be present in order to win the Plasma TV. Storytime programs Visit the Needham Public Library in June for a variety of story times. Preschool Storytime (for ages 3-5) will meet on Tuesday, June 16, from 10-10:30 a.m. Babybook Time (for ages 2-1/2 and younger) will meet on Wednesday, June 17, from 10-10:20 a.m. Toddler Storytime(for ages 2-4) will meet on Thursdays, June 18, from 10-10:30 a.m. Stories from around the world (for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 2) will meet on Tuesday, June 16, from 4-4:30 p.m. All activities are free and registration is not required for any of the story time programs. Elderhostel, in association with the North Hill Independent Living and Life Care Retirement Community, offers Day of Discovery programs at the North Hill, 865 Central Ave. “The History of Baseball” will be presented by baseball expert Mark Cofman on June 18. The program begins with lunch, included in the program fee, at 1 p.m., and concludes at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $34 for North Hill residents and $57 for non-residents. The Children’s Room at the Needham Free Public Library, 1139 Highland Ave., will have an art exhibit, featuring works by Mrs. Ramras’ Mitchell School kindergarten students, from June 1-21.
