ROCKFORD (WREX) – Sunday was a fantastic day to ride motorcycles, and some bikers helped out with a good cause in the process.
Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary held a 63-mile charity bike run to raise money to help take care of the animals. It started at Kegel Harley-Davidson and finished at Rock River Oasis. Riders got food and door prizes and there was a raffle. “We have a pet food pantry where people come in and collect food for the people who can't afford to feed their animals,” said Joan Fransen, a pet coordinator at Noah's Ark. “This way they're not filling the shelters and they're not turning them out in the streets.”
The cost to ride was $10 bucks a person. This was the first year for the event.
