Get involved A GRAND charity ball aimed at raising cash for injured soldiers has been given the backing of Jasper Carrott and Noel Edmonds.
Solihull-based charity Troop Aid, which provides British troops with basic essentials when they are admitted to hospital in Afghanistan and Selly Oak, are putting on their first black-tie bash at the National Motorcycle Museum, in Solihull. The sparkling event has secured the support of Edmonds, Carrott and comedian Frank Carson, and organisers hope their celebrity status will help raise thousands of pounds for brave British soldiers wounded in action. Linda Stokes, from Troop Aid, said: “We are expecting more than 500 people to come to the ball and show their support for troops. “When our men and women get injured and are in trauma they are hurting and are scared. “Having the basics such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and a clean change of clothes provided for them is the least we can do. Our soldiers should get the best that can be offered.”
Carrott and Edmonds will be among celebrities sending video messages to people at the event.
