Now Back In An Old Spot To Offer More Good News 2009: Space 21

Now back in an old spot to offer more good news

It’s good to be back in this space.
Sure, it’s been a while — 21 years to be exact, since I penned this column which then was called “Potpourri” — but I guess it’s like riding a bike. Start typing and it all comes back. One of the best things about this is it gives me another way in which to connect with the readers. I’ll be filling this space for the next couple of weeks until the new community columnist, Kate Gluck of Bay Village, debuts. In the meantime, I’m hoping many of you will drop me a line by e-mail or “snail mail,” whichever you prefer, to let me know what’s going on in your church, school, business or neighborhood. I’d love to hear from you. I’ll be glad to pass items along to Kate, also. To reach out even more, we’re planning to host some “Coffee with the Editor” sessions beginning next month. Watch for more details very soon. And now for some news that’s “really close to home.”
OUTSTANDING — The Bay Village Chapter of the League of Women Voters Cuyahoga Area selected Megan O’Brien and Brian Harrell as “Good Citizens” of the school and community. Both are 2009 Bay High School graduates and each received a $1,000 college scholarship from the league.
