It is time, once again, for the NRL Charity Shield, the annual pre-season hit-out between the Rabbitohs and the Dragons.
As is tradition, the winning team will decide to which local charity the proceeds should be donated.
Proceeds from first Charity Shield match, held in 1982, went to local hospitals, and so did many of the players.
This Saturday’s NRL Charity Shield should continue the match’s 25-year-history of roughness, with both the Rabbitohs and the Dragons bringing plenty of pent-up aggression into play after five months of off-season training.
